The Geelong Food Relief Centre is pleased to advise that after a review of current information and experience concerning Covid 19 virus, the ongoing need for food relief, and the gradual and phased relaxing of State Government regulations, GFRC will be opening both of the Geelong MiniMarts effective 10.00am Monday, 18th May 2020.
In order to protect volunteers and clients, strict social distancing and sanitisation procedures will be followed at both sites, supporting government directives.
In addition, GFRC will also employ security at the Freedman Street site to assist volunteers and clients to manage access and the safety procedures.
Both MiniMarts will be fully stocked and will be in a position to allow clients to redeem food vouchers daily 10.00am – 3.00pm. The Bulk Distribution facility will continue to operate much as it has in the past month, but with some changes due to the reduced space available once the MiniMarts reopen.
A further review of Bulk Distribution will be undertaken in two weeks in conjunction with GFAN partners.
GFRC would like to thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this challenging time and assures you that GFRC will communicate immediately should the situation change due to any amendments to the COVID19 restrictions and experience.
Kind Regards and keep well,
Chairman GFRC Inc
